I am learning that DJ is a lot smarter than he lets off. I don't know if he just gets a little bored with school, or just has to have some down time, but the things he remembers and the answers he comes up with is surprising to say the least. It's really sad that a 4th grader is better at grammar than his adult mother;( I guess homeschooling will be a good for me too. We have been reviewing a few areas in grammar and will add some math review and spelling this next week. I have to say I am mentally exhausted at the end of each day and can't wait to crawl into bed. I went to sleep early last night and I'm thinking it will be an early night tonight too.
Tomorrow we are to meet with the Bishop in our new ward. Malachi will also have his 12 yr old interview with him too. Wednesday night is the night scheduled for youth night and the missionaries schedule that night for the adults to come and study the scriptures while they wait for their kids. They also are starting up a choir but that will met on SUndays as usual. I guess they have done a lot of negro spirituals in the past, but are trying to follow the church approved guidelines that the church has stated in the church handbook and are looking for more Sunday appropriate music so I need to look through at what I have so far. They are really trying hard to follow the handbook here. I commend this small struggling ward. It will be a wonderful experience to work with members who are more concerned in building up the kingdom of God, than promoting their own personal agendas or spend all their time gossiping and tearing down others.
Sheldon and I have felt that this will be a great experience for us as well as the two younger boys. They have taken all this change in stride and are have not complained once about the move. In fact on Sunday DJ was being his typical self and was talking to me about, well mainly nothing important as usual, while we were waiting for Sacrament Meeting to start he placed his arm next to mine and said, "it's funny how I'm the darkest here, then he stopped, paused and corrected himself saying, well, I'm not the darkest "HERE" as he looked around a bit, but I'm the darkest in my family and the youngest too." I had to chuckle. so, I guess he has noticed that he is the only white 9 year old in primary right now.
It snowed today. We probably got about 2-3 inches in all, The kids played all afternoon with all the neighborhood kids and had a lot of fun. There's some great kids in the area and everyone plays well together with no problems. This afternoon they were all out having a massive snowball fight and trying to find ways to build a mound for sleds. It's nice to have a group of kids for my boys to play with right out the back door. Don't get me wrong, we had a neighbors at our last place, but it seems like everyone here is more into playing and getting along with one another than teasing younger kids. All in all, we've had a great experience here so far and it's nice to just not have to worry about any negative stuff. It's a nice change.

Sounds like things are going well. That is great about the new ward. Now you can take a breather and help them out there. I bet the boys loved the snow, is it still snowing? Hope you have a good rest of the week.
