Since the last time I wrote we have been busy. Where to start, where to start?
I got Jori all signed up for her independent class for the summer, she hasn't cracked the book open once. In fact her time here has truly been a waste of time in my book. We could have left her in the states and she could have been working and saving money for school. I had hoped to take some small local trips, but that hasn't panned out like I wanted it too:( We still have a couple more years here so I'm sure we'll get to see everything we want eventually.
In June we inherited some new family members; Two more dogs and a schizophrenic cat;) Out good friends the Thiessen's were in the process of moving to Germany. Jon is already here in Europe, but Monica and the kids were planning on coming out in the middle of June to visit for the summer. Monica was also planning to stay and work for the Army at Graf and they were planning to get a place eventually. Monica had originally planned to bring the animals out with her when she came but the airlines initiated their "pet embargo" 2 weeks early which meant that unless you are on military orders you can't fly your pets until the summer is over:o Well, they sure didn't tell this to Monica when she was making her plans a few weeks before that:/ So the day before Jon was coming back to Germany from his vacation home, they found all this out and they had 24 hours to get everyone ready to fly out with him. Luckily for us his flight was going through Amsterdam so we were able to drive up there and get the animals from him before he headed off back to Germany. Then during that next week Monica was told that she would be put on disability for her medical problems so that stopped the job with the Army:( This is a blessing for her really, but just a hassle when it comes to getting her over here. So they had everything figured out to come and now the Dr's are now doing the ole, "oh hurry up then wait we have to do this now thing" game>:( It looks like it might be drawn out into a long battle for Monica and with Melissa and Jacob going on their missions at the end of the summer, things are really getting down to the wire here:/ They family had talked of going through the temple here in Germany with the kids but as of now they still are not here yet:( Jon had to go to Hawaii for a class so they took a family vaca there, and right before heading off to that Jon got word that they are planning to send him to Afghanistan in January>:( Can you say that this whole thing just inhales rapidly! Also Melissa found a lump on her thyroid and now has a biopsy right after they get back to the states. So, now we sit and wait to hear what is next going to happen. We are doing great with the animals, they have settled in nicely, but I know they miss their a "family" and we will just continue on with our summer plans.
So onto the summer plans..................
Christian has EFY starting on Monday in Germany. It looks like after all the hassle's that we had trying to get him and the Herleen ward kids into an English speaking conference, he was the only one to follow through adn do the paperwork:/ Go figure! So we head out Sunday after church is over and will drive down to stay at Ramstein that evening. The drive from Ramstein should only be a couple hour and he has to be there I think by 12 noon. After we drop him off we will head to Graf and spend the week there visiting with Jon and seeing all the cool things there is to see in that area of Germany. We are even thinking of visiting Prague since we'll be a couple hours away. We pick up Chris on Saturday and head home to a couple days before the next leg of the vacation begins.
Once home we have a couple days to gear up for London:) We are planning to go to England and stay there for about 11-13 days. If all goes well we will stay at a RAF base about 1 1/2 hours outside London. We can take the train into London and go see all the sights there but then also go visit other places in the local area. There are some church history sites and and things like Stonehenge and small villages in the countryside we can visit. We might drive up to Scotland and maybe even take a ferry to Ireland too? Right now we are in the planning stage still but what ever we decide to do we will be having fun! We plan on not getting back home until around the 14 or 15 of August!
Jori will then fly back to the states on the 19th, then the following week we will be heading back to Ramstein for Sheldon's language test. I need to try and get the boys set up for their physicals and med refills too. So the next few weeks will be full of lots of travel! We are grateful we have Renata who will stay here with the animals and take took care of everybody:)
So as you see, maybe there will be some updates and pictures to go along with the updates? We shall see;)
